From worry about your child to confidence in your parenting

A four-part parenting course, by Dr Jenny Brown, to stream for parents in your organisation.

About the Confident Parent Course

✅ Recover confidence in your capacity to be a resource for your child’s wellbeing

✅ Based on the wealth of family systems research, where focusing on managing yourself can affect change in the family and support your child's mental health

✅ Focus on what is within your control, holding boundaries and parenting by your principles to regain confidence

✅ Provides a balance of ideas and action role plays, including video seminars by Dr Jenny Brown, placing her research and experience into an accessible course

✅ Includes questions asked by the audience, reflective questions and a workbook to help you apply the ideas to your own parenting

Today’s parents are bombarded with confusing messages about their child’s emotional well-being in our challenging social climate – How to deal with the epidemic of mental health symptoms? How do parents know how to be supportive and give appropriate independence? The course covers:1. Where is my energy directed? 2. Is worry driving my connection? 3. How do I hold clear limits? 4. Am I thinking big picture?

Dr Jenny Brown has been working as a mental health professional in child and adolescent mental health for decades. From her research, clinical and consulting work she has developed an approach that helps parents to navigate the pressures of parenting in anxious times. This course presents a paradigm shift away from focussing on children, to focussing on what is in the parent’s capacity. Parents will gain insights into how they can best contribute to their child’s positive emotional health.

Video format, each part is 60-85 minutes, including role plays, ideas, practical examples and questions from a live audience.

All four sections were excellent. I will be thinking about this for a long time. And I am looking forward to conversations I will soon be having with two supervisors who also took the course and come to it through studying Bowen Theory. Thank you very much Jenny Brown.
