Group Discussion Highlights

The Confident Parent course helps parents move from worry about their child to confidence in their parenting. It is in four parts and can be delivered live by community workers, counsellors or other professionals after completing the facilitator training.

This is the highlights package of the Confident Parent Course to be used when facilitating the live course. Highlights include role plays, introduction to the key idea and research, plus a short case study, with 30-45 minutes of video for each of the four course parts. Facilitators will then encourage deeper reflection and discussion with the course participants.

Group facilitators can present this course as often as they like in the 12 month period, in the one organisation. If you are presenting the course at another organisation, they will need to purchase their own streaming access (either 3 months or 12 months access).

For access to the full Confident Parent Course online, which can also be used in group settings without a facilitator, see here.

I learned so much already about my own parenting - past, current, and hopefully, future - and also my therapeutic practice with kids and families. It is exciting to be turning upside down my thinking and approach to parenting and also supporting parents/caregivers in their efforts to raise children to be psychologically autonomous.

All four sections were excellent. I will be thinking about this for a long time. And I am looking forward to conversations I will soon be having with two supervisors who also took the course and come to it through studying Bowen Theory. Thank you very much Jenny Brown.
